Dear CIS Community,
The following update is in response to the ongoing conflict and escalation to widespread airstrikes and shelling of cities in Ukraine by Russia this week. First, we must say that our thoughts are with the people of Ukraine affected, and we hope for a fast resolution.
Second, we want you to know that CIS Abroad is working closely with our European university partners as the situation evolves. We are monitoring news outlets and US Consulate alerts across the region. As of now, none of our partners have canceled or postponed their programs or plan to do so. All CIS Abroad Spring Semester 2022 programs in the region are currently running with students on site. We are in regular contact with our on-site staff to ensure that we are as informed as possible.
We do not have programs operating in Ukraine, Poland, or immediate areas, have assessed each program location in Europe where we do operate, and have determined that all CIS Abroad locations continue to be safe. However, in the event that the situation drastically changes, all students are covered under a comprehensive health and emergency insurance plan which includes emergency evacuation in the event of widespread terrorist attacks, acts of war, and natural disasters.
We continue to work with our on-site staff and our insurance company to keep students as safe as possible, and at this time we do not believe that any such conflict will impact our programs on site.
