LATEST UPDATE:

Flooding in Italy

May 19, 2023

Northern Italy has been hit hard by rain over the past several days.  Many rivers have swollen and breeched their banks.  Towns have been flooded and many landslides have been reported.   CIS Abroad is monitoring the evolving situation closely.  Tuscany is seeing some flooding, and the river in Florence is quite high.  However, no official warnings have been posted in Florence at this time.  Students have been asked to stay away from affected areas and they have been asked to stay clear of rivers and streams, as flash flooding may occur if the rain continues.
